ANZAC Day car rental in New Zealand, without the promo code hunt
ANZAC Day is the calmer NZ long weekend — autumn weather, lower demand, and one of the better value rental windows of the year if you're flexible on dates.
ANZAC Day on April 25 sits in late autumn — cooler weather, shorter daylight, fewer tourists. The long weekend has its own quiet rituals (dawn services, RSA gatherings) and never quite hits the road-trip peaks of Christmas or Easter. That makes it one of NZ's better-value rental windows.

Popular vehicles for this holiday
ANZAC weekend trips are mostly short — visit family, hit a beach, attend a dawn service. Vehicle picks lean smaller and cheaper than Christmas.
SUV rentals
Still the default for couples doing a 3-day road trip. April rain is common, so 4WD/AWD helps on rural back roads.
Example models: Toyota RAV4, Kia Sportage
Economy car rentals
The most popular ANZAC pickup — cheap, cheerful, fuel-efficient. Fine for solo travellers and couples staying local.
Example models: Toyota Corolla, Hyundai i20, Suzuki Swift
