Most of the fleet seats five (86 listings), which suits two or three travellers with big suitcases, and there are 27 hybrids if you plan on soaking up lots of highway kilometres. Heading south to Rotorua or Taupō? A hybrid or small SUV like the RAV4 takes the hills and holiday traffic in its stride. Families of seven or more have only about 25 vehicles with seven or more seats to pick from, so lock one in early, and check the luggage space before you pay. Sort out your pickup time the moment your flight lands, since late arrivals can face long queues at the counter during Lunar New Year.
